Fire Safety & Emergency Procedure

Stay Calm – Leave Immediately – Call 999

Croydon Workspace operates on an unmanned basis. In the event of a fire, members must take immediate responsibility for their own evacuation.

If You Discover a Fire

  1. Activate the nearest fire alarm call point (if safe to do so).

  2. Leave the building immediately via the nearest safe fire exit.

  3. Do NOT attempt to fight the fire unless trained and it is safe.

  4. Call 999 and ask for the Fire Brigade.

  5. Notify Croydon Workspace support once safe.

If the Fire Alarm Sounds

• Stop work immediately
• Leave the building via the nearest marked fire exit
• Do not use lifts (if applicable)
• Do not stop to collect belongings
• Close doors behind you where possible

Assembly Point

The designated assembly point is:
Scarbrook Road, Opposite Stoneham House

Do not re-enter the building until confirmed safe by the Fire Brigade.

Fire Safety Rules

Members must:

• Keep all fire exits and escape routes clear
• Not wedge open fire doors
• Not tamper with smoke detectors or alarm systems
• Not use candles, portable heaters or open flames
• Not overload electrical sockets

Failure to comply may result in termination of membership.

Persons Requiring Assistance

Members who may require assistance evacuating should notify Croydon Workspace in advance so a Personal Emergency Evacuation Plan (PEEP) can be discussed.

Testing & Maintenance

Fire alarms and emergency lighting are tested and maintained in accordance with UK regulations. Alarm tests may occur periodically — members will be notified in advance where possible.
