Health & Safety Policy

Croydon Workspace is committed to providing a safe and healthy working environment for all members, visitors, contractors and anyone using the premises.

As the workspace operates on an unmanned, self-service basis with remote support, all members share responsibility for maintaining a safe environment.

We will:

• Maintain the premises in a safe condition
• Conduct and review risk assessments, including fire risk assessments
• Ensure statutory inspections and servicing of fire alarms, emergency lighting and safety equipment are carried out
• Provide clear safety information to members
• Maintain appropriate public liability insurance

Member Responsibilities

By using Croydon Workspace, members agree to:

• Take reasonable care of their own health and safety and that of others
• Familiarise themselves with fire exits and emergency procedures
• Keep walkways, exits and shared areas clear at all times
• Not tamper with fire safety equipment or emergency systems
• Report hazards, defects or incidents immediately via the designated remote support contact
• Use electrical equipment safely and not overload sockets
• Not bring hazardous materials, open flames or dangerous equipment into the premises

Members are responsible for their own personal property and equipment.

Accident & Incident Reporting

All accidents, near misses or hazards must be reported as soon as possible by emailing:

Emergency services should always be contacted directly in serious situations before contacting workspace support.

First Aid

There is no on-site staff presence. Members should dial 999 in the event of serious injury or medical emergency.

First aid provisions are located in The Communal Kitchen

Electrical Safety

Only PAT-tested or safe domestic electrical equipment may be used. Croydon Workspace reserves the right to request removal of unsafe equipment.

Policy Review

This policy will be reviewed annually and updated as required.
